Chad Myers
Our speaker on May 20 will be Chad Myers, head basketball coach at Massanutten Military Academy. He coaches young men to become great people as well as to go on and play in major colleges around the country.
Coach Myers has served as the Head Coach for MMA from 2011- 2013 seasons and returned to the position in 2016. During his time at MMA, he has had many notable players in his program such as Frank Mason, who currently plays in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings. He has also led the program to the National Prep Tournament each of his 5 years here. His 2012-2013 and 2017- 2018 team was ranked #1 in the Nation for over 10 weeks. Those teams finished the season 30-3 and 32-4 respectively. The 2019 PG team made MMA history by making the Final 4 in the National Prep Championship tournament in Connecticut and finishing the year 32-4!
Before Coach Myers began his coaching career, he played basketball at the collegiate level at Shepherd University. During his time at Shepherd, Coach Myers majored in Recreation Sports Event Management and also broke two different school records during his time there. He broke the record for the most consecutive free- throws made (37) and the most 3-point shots made in a game (9).
Coach Chad Myers exemplifies how a dream can turn into reality through hard work and persistence. He continues to grow the PG Basketball program at MMA and is excited for the 2019-2020 season!
