The Roanoke Valley Sports Club is pleased to welcome Andy Bitter, the Virginia Tech football beat writer for Techsideline.com to our meeting on Monday, April 14. Social time will begin at 5:30, dinner at 6:00 with the program at 7:00.

Andy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001 and has spent most of his sports writing career in the state of Virginia, including stops at the Danville (VA) Register and Bee (2002-2003), the Lynchburg (VA) News & Advance (2003-2008), the Columbus (GA) Ledger-Enquirer (2008-2011), the Virginian-Pilot (2011-2013), the Roanoke Times (2013-2018), and The Athletic (2018-2023). While at the Athletic, Andy won 2022 Virginia Sportswriter of the Year award.

With the Virginia Tech spring game on Saturday, April 12, Andy will be able to provide some expert insight into what he saw from the Hokies and well as some thoughts on the current state of college football, including NIL and the transfer portal.

A reservation is needed per person and includes a catered dinner. Social time begins at 5:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., with Dinner at 6:00 p.m. and Program starting at 7:00 p.m. Reservations are $22.50 for Members, $28 for Non Members.

Notice: Due to meal guarantees required by the Salem Civic Center, ALL RESERVATIONS must be made online or received by mail prior to 4:00 PM the Friday before our meeting. No Walk-Ups and No Pay-At-The-Door will be accepted. Reservations due no later than 4:00 PM, Friday, APRIL 11.
